We, the members
of Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Inc. in the state of Arkansas, acknowledge that potential
members may have problems academically that prevent them from joining our
organization. This predicament
hinders their chances of being a part of something with substance and
value. To address this issue, we
have made preparations to make sure that we help improve the GPA’s
and study habits of those who are not members of Iota. We are asking people who are interested
in improving their GPA and study habits to come forth and utilize our
academic plan. It is called the
Studying/Tutoring Program, which will provide the following:
·
Assist
others with their Academic Progress
·
Demonstrate
the utilization of the available labs on campus within various departments
·
Provide
available tutoring, study groups, and study halls
·
Help
maintain a 2.5 GPA or better
·
Offer
a workshop that will increase students' study habits
Although
most universities require a 2.0 GPA before joining a Greek Organization, we
feel that if a person enters our organization with a 2.5 then they will be
able to maintain that GPA or increase it in the semesters to follow. We want to ensure that students do not
fall below a 2.5 in order that they may graduate with a 3.0 GPA or
higher. Iota Phi Theta wants the
students to be aware of their grades and help each other to achieve and
maintain a 2.5 GPA or higher.
For
those who already have a 2.5 GPA or higher, posses good study habits, and
have a grasp of academics in general are encouraged to assist with the
Studying/Tutoring Program by following the bullets that were explained
previously about the program.
Whenever
you participate in the Studying/Tutoring Program, you will need to sign in
and sign out with date, time, subject(s), and full name. You can either sign in on paper or email
it to the chapter. We assure to do
our best in serving your academic needs!
